The STORME Project

Have your students take the world by STORME.

The STORME Project effectively delivers the STEM, Coding and Engineer Design Process requirements of the Ontario Curriculum with:

  • Hands on Experiential Lessons, delivered weekly in your school by our team
  • All the technical equipment and cross-curriculum lessons
  • A Cost Effective structure
  • Time saving for your staff

Becoming a STORME school is easy

  • Select a day of the week for your workshops
  • Coordinate a workshop – time block schedule with us
  • Teachers provide our team with the Math, Science and Art units they’re working on
  • Our team provides the STORME workshops.

What is a STORME workshop?

We deliver cross-curriculum lessons that are hands-on problem solving challenges where students use robotics and/or engineering kits to apply their curriculum learning. Workshops are approx 90 minutes per class and we run three per day at your school (Morning before and after recess, Afternoon before recess).

Your custom workshops are based on what your students are currently being taught and a real world scenario. This allows students to apply their knowledge in a fun and engaging way, and teachers to assess their students.

How often is the workshop team in our school? How many workshops do we get?

The Brick Labs team will deliver workshops once per week from mid-September to mid-June (approx 30 visits). Each visit will consist of 3 workshops for a total of 90 through the year. So for a school with 10 classes, each student would receive 9 STORME workshops through the year.

What type of technology platform do we need?

For the STORME project, we bring all the tech your students need. The LEGO Spike Prime robotics kit is our main teaching unit. We provide the tablets, additional material and handouts.

What grades can take the workshops?

The STORME project is currently designed for students in grades 1 to 6. We are currently testing a Kindergarten level program, and will introduce Grades 7 and 8 in the years ahead.

How much is the program? Is there funding?

The annual cost for the program is $20,000 for the year. (for a 200 student school $100/student).

Schools can use their STEM budget, plus we are willing to assist with any of your parent council fundraising efforts. We are working on a funding model for public schools with the Ministry.

Independent schools can add the cost as an additional school fee.
